Women with Disabilities Human Rights Alert (WODHRA) advocates for Rights for People with Disabilities:

People with disabilities have the right to equal opportunities, inclusion, and non-discrimination. Some key aspects of our goal include:

  1. Right to Accessibility: People with disabilities have the right to access physical environments, transportation, information, and communication on an equal basis with others. This includes accessible buildings, transportation services, websites, and communication tools.
  2. Right to Education: Individuals with disabilities have the right to inclusive education that accommodates their specific needs. This involves providing reasonable accommodations, accessible learning materials, and supportive environments to ensure equal access to quality education.
  3. Right to Employment: People with disabilities should have equal opportunities for employment and work without discrimination. Employers should provide reasonable accommodations, promote inclusive workplace practices, and ensure equal access to employment opportunities.
  4. Right to Healthcare: Individuals with disabilities have the right to accessible healthcare services, including preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. Healthcare providers should accommodate their specific needs and ensure they receive equitable healthcare services.
  5. Right to Education: Girls have the right to equal access to quality education. This includes ensuring that girls are not discriminated against and have equal opportunities to enroll, stay in school, and receive an education that promotes their empowerment.
  6. Right to Protection from Discrimination and Violence: Girls have the right to be protected from discrimination, violence, abuse, and harmful practices.
  7. Right to Health and Reproductive Rights: Girls have the right to access healthcare services, including sexual and reproductive health information, education, and services.
