Tanzania Land Alliance (TALA) is a coalition of 14 Civil Society Organizations. TALA has a three-tier structure consisting of the General Meeting as the supreme organ of the organisation; the Board of Directors (BODs) comprises some of the directors of TALA’s membership organisations. The BODs provide strategic direction of the organisation; the directors’ forum, which is an advisory organ of this network; and the management team/ secretariat headed by the coordinator of the team members. TALA secretariat undertakes the day-to-day coordination process of the Alliance with a Coordinator, Finance Officer, and technical team. Every member organisation has a focal person who supports the Alliance in the implementation of different initiatives coordinated by the Alliance.

TALA’s vision envisages capable CSOs which are mutually pursuing equitable access, use, control and ownership over land for benefits of small-scale producers (small scale farmers, pastoralists, small scale miners, women, youth, etc.). TALA’s mission endeavours enhancing equitable access to, control and 14 ownerships over land through effective coordination, joint advocacy, and sharing of knowledge and information amongst its members; and, an advocacy for improved land and natural resources administration.

 

TALA continues to commit upholding the following values throughout interventions whereby the values include: –Teamwork and volunteerism; Ownership; Accountability, Transparency; Equity; Respect; Determination and; Trust.
