Shared Lives Group is a registered community based organisation in Taita Taveta County, Kenya. We work with trans and gender diverse people in rural areas, where support and services are hard to find.

Our work focuses on three things. First, safety and protection, including support for members who face rejection, violence or discrimination. Second, access to health information and services, including HIV. Third, community organizing and advocacy, so that trans and gender diverse people can speak for themselves and take part in decisions that affect them.

We also build partnerships with other organisations, health providers and human rights groups to bring services and attention to people who are often left out. We are joining the Network to learn from other grassroots groups, share our experience from rural Kenya, and connect with partners and funders.
