The Rural Women Empowerment Network (RUWONET) is a women rights organization in Uganda founded in 2010 to enhance the status and visibility of women and Key populations.

RUWONET is a registered NGO under the provisions of the Non-governmental Organizations Act Cap.113 laws of Uganda. The organization was incorporated in the year 2010 in Kampala, Uganda. Since 2010, RUWONET has invested in addressing issues affecting women’s health, Climate Change, political empowerment and economic self-sufficiency. In 2018 we implemented a project titled Strengthening Public-Private Interventions to End Violence against Women Refugees in Uganda, this was a six-month project funded by Canada Fund For Local Initiative (CFLI) whose goal was to contribute to increased capacities of civil society and health care systems in Kamwenge.,In 2020 a project Funded by United Nations Democracy Fund (UNDEF) Advancing women’s electoral participation in Uganda, we are supporting women smallholder farmers with sustainable farming, Family planning advocacy campaigns among other projects. We are a member of SRHR and Climate Justice Coalition among other Networks.
WHAT WE DO: Since 2010, Rural Women Empowerment Network has invested wisely in the success of women of all ages and the key populations. Rural Women Empowerment Network addresses issues affecting the economic well-being of women and their families with the goal of eliminating barriers women face in achieving political empowerment, Health and economic self-sufficiency.

 To promote Gender Equality by Addressing Barriers that Prevent Full Participation of Women in Public and Political Life
 To Empower Women in accessing SRHR and Climate Justice.
To Promote the Growth and Development of Women in agriculture by teaching them sustainable way of farming.
 To Promote Entrepreneurial Skills amongst Women
 To combat all Forms of Violence against Women and gils
