OSED – Organization for Social and Economic Development – is an Afghan national NGO registered with the ministry of economy under license number 4477.

OSED is a protection-oriented community development organization which works towards a prosperous, resilient, just and inclusive society. We design and implement our programs through a process of Community Development focusing on the most vulnerable populations groups. Our humanitarian and development initiatives are people-centred and delivered through community-based and locally-led approaches. OSED also specializes in the facilitation of community-based rural development programs.

OSED was inspired by the need for an innovative social purpose organization rooted in local communities yet connected with national and international mechanisms for the delivery of protection-centred humanitarian and development assistance in Afghanistan. OSED has a culture that combines passion, expertise and enterprise to reduce human suffering.
