Since 1987, ISHHR has worked with programs of capacity building in different post-conflict regions every 3-5 years, followed by an International Conference on Health and Human Rights. This conference is a unique event for organizations and individuals working with mental health issues affecting people who have experienced trauma in the context of war and organized violence.

The conference took place at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia from November 21-25, 2022.  Around 90 delegates, both local and international, took part.  As usual, a combination of workshops, plenary and parallell sessions set the light on a variety of different aspects and approaches of working with persons subjected to various kinds of challenges.  There were also social events organized, bringing the participants closer to different parts of local culture, be it food, music or nature.

The ISHHR is deeply grateful to our local organizers without whose help this event could not have taken place.  We look forward to keeping in touch, preparing for the next step.  As financial sponsor The Norwegian Human Rights Fund, Colombia branch, also contributed generously to make this possible.  A comprehensive report about the conference will be published on this website soon.
