The Charitable Fund for Community Development (CFCOD) is a grassroots organization working across Liberia to promote inclusive, community-led development that strengthens vulnerable communities’ ability to create sustainable change. We work with rural and underserved communities, women, youth, children, local leaders, and community-based groups to address social, economic, and environmental challenges through participatory approaches.

Our mission is to empower communities through collective learning, local leadership, and sustainable solutions that improve livelihoods, expand opportunities, and build resilience. We believe that communities are the key drivers of development, and our work focuses on supporting people in identifying their own priorities, developing practical solutions, and taking ownership of their future.

CFCOD’s programmes focus on education, children’s wellbeing, women’s rights, gender-based violence prevention, youth empowerment, livelihoods, community organizing, and environmental justice. Through capacity building, awareness creation, mentorship, partnerships, and community-based interventions, we support individuals and groups to strengthen their skills, access opportunities, and participate meaningfully in decisions affecting their lives.

The organization places particular emphasis on reaching communities facing limited access to resources and services, especially in rural Liberia. We promote locally led approaches that connect community knowledge with development practices, ensuring that solutions are relevant, sustainable, and responsive to local realities.

As Liberia continues to experience challenges linked to poverty, inequality, climate change, and limited opportunities, CFCOD remains committed to building resilient communities where women, children, youth, and marginalized groups can thrive.
