World Impact Development Foundation (WIDEF) is a nonprofit organization registered in Nigeria. We are on a mission to create positive impact and drive sustainable development through strategic policy advocacy and innovative programs that safeguard human rights, and advance peace and security, governance, and economic prosperity in the digital age.
In an era where civic space actors are increasingly under threat, censorship and surveillance, WIDEF works tirelessly to safeguard human rights and the freedom of assembly, expression, and association. We advocate for robust legal frameworks and stand up against censorship and repression. Additionally, we work to address the root causes of conflicts and insecurity, counter violent extremism and prevent the recruitment of vulnerable individuals into armed groups and violent extremist organizations by providing alternative sustainable livelihood options and pathways essential for addressing the socio-economic drivers of conflict and extremism.
Furthermore, we are deeply committed to advocating for strategic policy reforms that promote inclusive governance structures and strengthen institutions at all levels. We empower citizens with the information they need to hold their leaders accountable and participate actively in democratic processes as active agents of change. Moreso, we empower underserved individuals and communities with the technological, digital and entrepreneurship skills needed to thrive in the digital age. But our work doesn’t stop there. We work tirelessly to influence policies that promote inclusive growth, reduce barriers to entry for marginalized groups, and create an enabling environment for economic development.
The work that we do is powered by our vision of a future where human rights, peace, good governance and economic prosperity thrive in the digital age.
