Our Vision
Wean envisages a Nigeria in which there is equitable, active and broad-based participation of citizenry in effective service delivery and utilization for sustainable governance.
Our Mission
To guide service providers and users in all fields, to be empowered with appropriate skills and competences for effective service delivery and utilization.

WEAN’s philosophy is to hunt for and share information aimed at promoting women’s human rights and development.  In line with this philosophy, we have produced information on laws and legal rights that is accessible to women in “Pidgin English”and other non-legalistic languages through all shades of sensitisation and awareness raising including seminars and workshops, focused-group discussions, meetings with women in their various groups at the community/grassroot level, information dissemination through radio, poster, pamphlet, street drama.

Our funders include:

* UNDP Country Office – Pre and post 2011 Nigerian general elections, as executing partner.

* UNDEF – Post 2011 elections, as implementing partner.

* INEC Gender Unit – Pre and post 2015 elections.

* Amplified Change: as a grassroot implementing partner – legal literacy on gender-based violence; ongoing in communities.

* Advocacy for law reforms to promote proportional participation of women in the political space; ongoing and funded by WEAN internal generated funds.
