United Stateless (USL) is a national organization led by stateless individuals, advocating for their rights and striving to end statelessness in the U.S. Our mission is to build and inspire community among those affected by statelessness and advocate for their human rights. We aim to be the central hub of knowledge and expertise on statelessness, driving positive change and law reform, and serving stateless people to ensure everyone’s human right to nationality is respected and upheld.

Work Areas:

1. Advocacy and Coalition Building: Focus on Administrative Department of Homeland Security Stateless Policy (implemented 2023) and advocating for Congress to pass the Stateless Protection Act (reintroduced 2024).
2. Stateless Services: Provide a legal clinic and social support, train and mentor U.S. attorneys, represent and refer stateless clients, and adopt a holistic approach centering legal empowerment.
3. Stateless Community: Implement a trauma-informed resiliency approach with the community at the core of our work.
4. Global Advocacy: Participate in the UNHCR-Geneva facilitated Global Alliance to End Statelessness, jointly pledging to advance localization and address statelessness responses.
