Ubuntu Rural Women and Youth Movement assists vulnerable communities with issues of Gender-Based Violence, Institutional Violence, and Climate Change, Women’s health, Food security, focusing on building the capacity of women and youth, and supporting economic opportunities. Its objectives include:
– youth and women leadership development through training and capacity building
– Rendering advice, access to information and monitoring cases of abuse, neglect through the running of an advice office
– Serving as a referral and mediation organization and support with GBV (completion of protection orders, monitoring of cases and court support). Arrange psycho-social support to survivors of GBV and family members of victims who passed on as a result of GBV, completion of maintenance applications).
– Child protection
– Serving as a referral organisation for human rights violations
– Running campaigns and engage government and other relevant stakeholders to include the participation of women and youth in decision making
– Fostering the working together of stakeholders in communities for collective engagement with decision makers
– Providing humanitarian support through feeding kitchens and support the establishments of household food gardens
– Support the establishment of economic projects for women and youth
