STEMi Makers Africa is a non-profit organization across 21 African countries addressing our present leaky unemployment pipeline, the underrepresentation of young women and girls in STEM through our mentoring program and the integration of practical learning in classrooms. We do this by training educators and providing them with resource tools so that students can find subjects like mathematics, engineering to be exciting. We have been awarded by the USA Consulate General, Nigeria on two projects of which are:-
The STEM Integration and Development training for 100 Educators (2019) and the South-East Edition of Empowering 300 Educators to Raise Students’ Achievement in STEM (2020). Through these projects, we set-up STEM Clubs, hosted bootcamps, hackathons, refined Educator’s instructional pedagogy where their students are allowed to solve ill-defined problems, make real-world connections while deepening content knowledge and preparing them for STEM careers.
Our social impact record has fostered partnerships with the 16 local and state governments, tech organizations like Oracle Academy, Google, IBM, and Microsoft who believe in helping Africans to become technology innovators and leaders.
