President Daisaku Ikeda is the leader of the Soka Gakkai International. He has dialogued with peace activists all over the world and published over hundred copies of peace proposals.

As a nongovernmental organization with formal ties to the United Nations, the SGI also collaborates with other civil society organizations and intergovernmental agencies in the fields of nuclear disarmament, human rights, sustainable development, humanitarian affairs and interfaith dialogue.

The organization shares understanding of the inseparable linkages between individual happiness and the realization of a peaceful world, SGI members strive to actualize their inherent potential while contributing to their local communities and responding to common issues humankind.

Our efforts toward the creation of a culture of peace are based on a steadfast commitment to dialogue, nonviolence and a sense of global citizenship nurtured through our daily Buddhist practice.
