The Ripples to Waves Initiative is a vibrant, collaborative platform dedicated to advancing human security goals in Africa, with a particular focus on the Horn of Africa (HoA) and Kenya (KE). Born out of the urgent need to accelerate initiatives, promote inclusivity and diversity, and foster dialogue on the critical issues facing our African continent, its five sub-regions, and our beloved Kenya,

We are a dynamic team of four young, positive pan-African social scientists who share a common goal: creating a safer, more secure, and more vibrant Africa. Our objective is to foster collaboration, learning, synergy, and adaptation in the field of human security, particularly in the Horn of Africa. Through planned rigorous research, evidence-based programming, collaborative learning, and inclusive debates, R2W seeks not only to strengthen the frameworks and platforms of Human Security Initiatives (HSIs) but also to spark national and regional dialogues that are free, fair, moderated, and unbiased.
