STATEMENT OF PROBLEM TO BE ADDRESSED

Teenage pregnancy is a crucial issue in deprived communities such as that of Ho West District of the Volta-Ghana as research shows that about 6,000 teenage pregnancies occurs yearly in the Volta Region resulting in challenges such as lost of pride & dignity, child marriage, substance abuse, sexual and physical abuse, malnutrition among kids, and inadequate health care.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

The Osbrain Cares Foundation, which, taking the Ho West District as its base, and without regard to social class/ profession, religion, and or any political affiliation of her beneficiaries, is to inspire, direct and guide the natural creative qualities and desires of teenage mothers by promoting recreational, educational, cultural and religious programs that will adequately meet their physical, mental and spiritual needs. This in turn, promotes societal and global development leading to relevant and effective attainment of Sustainable and Development Goal (SDG) Goal-1(No Poverty), Goal-2(Zero Hunger), Goal-3(Good Health and Well-being) and Goal-4(Quality Education).

We envision a community in which teenage mothers will have the power to lift themselves out of poverty and create vital, healthy lives for themselves and their families, as well as the communities now and for the future.

MISSION STATEMENT

 We are working to empower women and girls, especially adolescent mothers through education, mentoring, advocacy, skills training, scholarships, and micro-business support.

Using Community Engagement Series(CES) as a module to find vulnerable girls especially teenage mothers; listen to them and design socio-economic and sustainable local-based program that will empower them.
