Omukyala is a community-based organization located in Kawanda, Wakiso District, Uganda, dedicated to promoting women’s rights and eliminating gender based violence. The organization was founded with the vision of creating a safe, equitable, and empowered society where women and girls can live free from violence, discrimination, and inequality.

Our work focuses on grassroots community engagement, where we raise awareness about gender-based violence, women’s rights, and social justice through community dialogues, sensitization campaigns, and outreach programs. We work closely with women, girls, families, and local leaders to challenge harmful cultural norms and promote positive behavioral change.

Omukyala provides support services to survivors of gender-based violence, including guidance, referrals, and access to relevant service providers such as legal aid, healthcare, and counseling. We also prioritize women’s empowerment by offering mentorship, life skills training, and initiatives that enhance economic independence and confidence among women and girls.

In addition, we collaborate with local stakeholders, community leaders, and partner organizations to strengthen protection systems and ensure a coordinated response to gender based violence.

Through our programs, we aim to build resilient communities where women and girls are informed, protected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
