Mujeres Aliadas works in the Lake Patzcuaro indigenous area of the State of Michoacan Mexico. We are a Mexican civil association founded in 2008 and legally constituted in 2010. We promote the rights and provide sexual and reproductive health care to women and adolescents based on a safe, respectful, and sustainable model of care: Professional Midwifery.
We work from a holistic and woman-centered perspective, where women take control of their health and the full exercise of their rights.
To promote the recognition of sexual and reproductive rights and the right to health of women and adolescents, strengthening the possibilities of agency and self-management of the body, sexuality and reproduction, through community education, safe and dignified care, as well as the training of human resources, based on the Professional Midwifery model.
To be a reference organization at the state level in the promotion of sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as of midwifery as an autonomous profession, so that women and adolescents make conscious, free, and informed decisions about their health and forms of care, favored by the community environment and health services, contributing to the construction of a more equitable society, where women’s rights are fully recognized.
