The Instituto de Desenvolvimento Comunitário (IDC) is a civil society organization based in Sofala, Mozambique, working to promote local economic and social development. The IDC works with communities, civil society organizations, local governments, the private sector, and other development partners to strengthen livelihoods, inclusion, environmental resilience, and community institutions.

Its work focuses on community economic development, livelihoods and entrepreneurship, environmental and natural resource governance, capacity building, evidence generation, and support for community-based initiatives. The organization seeks to connect local knowledge and community priorities with research, practical skills, evidence, and institutional partnerships.

The IDC uses participatory approaches, applied research, community engagement, capacity building, and evidence-based decision-making to identify local challenges, prioritize feasible interventions, and support communities and partners in developing sustainable solutions. It aims to strengthen local agency and create practical pathways for communities to improve their economic and social conditions.
