Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH)
Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH) is a camp-based organization officially registered in Bangladesh as a Public Charitable Trust. Established in November 2017 by Rohingya refugees, ARSPH represents communities from 33 refugee camps in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. The organization is dedicated to promoting human rights, justice, and solutions for the Rohingya community.
Since 1978, the Rohingya have faced systematic persecution in Myanmar, including military operations, displacement, and human rights violations. The violence intensified in August 2017, when over 700,000 Rohingya, including ARSPH’s founders, fled to Bangladesh after attacks by the Myanmar military, police, and extremist groups. Thousands were killed, homes destroyed, and atrocities committed against women and children.
ARSPH works to address these injustices by organizing community initiatives, empowering youth and women, advocating for human rights, and facilitating peaceful demonstrations. The organization engages with international actors, including UN agencies, the OIC, journalists, and social media platforms, to raise awareness and promote repatriation, justice, and long-term solutions to the Rohingya crisis.
Through its programs, ARSPH strengthens community resilience, protects vulnerable populations, and promotes peace-building, ensuring the Rohingya voice is heard both locally and internationally.
