The Agency for Minority Rights and Development (AMARD) is a vibrant and impactful non-profit organization located in Mogadishu, Somalia. Established in 2012 by members of minority communities, AMARD is dedicated to addressing the needs and rights of underprivileged, marginalized, and vulnerable groups across the Horn of Africa. With a mission to improve living conditions and promote human rights, the organization is committed to finding sustainable solutions to combat issues such as absolute poverty, social exclusion, and unemployment. AMARD achieves this through comprehensive humanitarian assistance, in-depth research, and targeted advocacy efforts aimed at addressing the complex challenges faced by these communities.

AMARD’s work focuses on several critical issue areas, including ethnic and religious minority rights, children’s rights, gender-based violence, women’s rights, and policy advocacy. The organization is particularly dedicated to empowering marginalized populations by promoting socio-cultural, economic, and technological initiatives. This ensures that these communities have access to essential social services and development opportunities. In addition, AMARD emphasizes governance, accountability, and transparency, helping to create a supportive environment that upholds human rights. The organization also addresses health issues and environmental justice, recognizing that the well-being of vulnerable groups is interconnected. By fostering an inclusive and equitable society, AMARD envisions a future where the rights of all individuals, especially those from minority backgrounds, are recognized, respected, and actively championed in every facet of social, political, and economic life.
