AFRICA ENVIRONMENT + RIGHTS ACTION ALLIANCE (AfERAA) IS A NON-PROFIT- ORGANIZATION, INITIATED AND REGISTERED WITH MINISTRY OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT & HUMANITIES, CROSS RIVER STATE IN 2022.

THE VISION IS: To have Communities Nature and People’s Rights recognized, respected and fulfilled.

INFORMED BY THE AFRICAN UNION CHARTER ARTICLE 3 (1) OF THE CONVENTION ON THE CONSERVATION OF NATURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES; ARTICLE 24 OF THE CHARTER ON HUMAN AND PEOPLE’S RIGHTS-DEALING WITH THE RECOGNITION OF ENVIRONMENTAL RIGHTS.

ALSO, ARTICLE 18 OF THE MAPUTO PROTOCOL ON THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN TO A HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT AND ARTICLES 19 AND 26 OF THE AFRICAN YOUTH CHARTER WHICH SPELLS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE YOUTH TO THE CHARTER AND TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT. And following the Africa agenda 2063 Goals 1.7: ENSURE ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE AND CLIMATE RESILIENT ECONOMIES AND COMMUNITIES.

THE MISSION IS: Promote secured land and resources rights of local communities, while addressing development and climate change issues, biodiversity loss and poverty crisis.
