This Manual has been designed to assist health workers to better appreciate issues relating to human rights and gender and how these influence health-related behaviours and outcomes. It is a tool for health professionals and duty bearers at all levels to guide the integration of human rights and gender considerations into policies, programmes, plans and service delivery. The Manual aims to operationalise a human rights and gender-based approach to service delivery developed by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
This is a trainee manual. About 70 percent of this Manual contains theory and 30 percent exercises. Where necessary, facilitators may adjust to suit participants‟ specific needs by including more exercises or vice versa. It is estimated that sufficient coverage of the content of these two modules requires one week training.
