Union of Community Development Volunteers (UCDV) is a national, indigenous development support organization (not-for-profit) founded in 2004 by a group of dynamic founding members who committed to use their knowledge and skills to support economically disadvantaged communities. By focusing on mobilizing and empowering communities, UCDV works towards opening opportunities among target communities by facilitating equitable access to social services. Henceforth, it supplements government’s efforts of delivering social services to the population.
UCDV is duly registered with the National Bureau for NGOs (NGO Bureau) (add number in Uganda. UCDV’s compliance with the authorities provides legitimacy to operate anywhere in Uganda, eligibility to apply for award of funding, participation in membership umbrella organizations or networks, and to engage in Income Generating Activities (IGAs) for financial sustainability of the organization.
