OUR STORY

SCODA was established to contribute towards a process of giving Power to women, youth and children, to help in the establishment of paralegal led advocacy interventions including but not limited to forming community action groups with mandate to help women, youths and children overcome social injustices and effectively participate in modern systems of economic development.

We also implement different programs in education, women economic empowerment, environmental justice, improved livelihood, food security and peace building for sustainable development and self-reliance.

WHO WE ARE:

We are a Kenyan community of over 200+ members from Siaya County Kenya. We are justice defenders, activists and organizers, educators, community stakeholders, students, and people with a passion for justice. We tackle a wide range of justice issues, from gender equality to land rights, Education discrimination, food security, Alternative Justice System issues, and much more. We live and work in solidarity with communities facing injustice.

While we come from different places, we are united by a common approach – a process known as legal empowerment. Through this process, we help communities to understand, use, and shape the law, so that the people most impacted by injustice can exercise their rights and take part in decisions that affect their live s.
