The organization takes principled and pragmatic approaches to protection and promotion of the right to the city through advocacy and precedence setting models for problem solving. PT provides social, technical and legal expertise at local community, national and international levels to ensure that urban growth and urbanism adhere to social justice principles and those national and international Human Rights standards are implemented in favour of the most vulnerable of urban citizens. PT collaborates closely with Muungano wa Wanavijiji (MWW), a federation of over 30,000 households living in 400 informal settlements across Kenya. The organization was founded as part of the anti-evictions movement that sort moratorium against evictions as well as the promotion of all human rights for the urban poor. Over the last decade, we have pursued this mandate by organizing the urban poor; undertaking trainings and advocacy. The vision of the organisation is based on five pillars;
