Indigenous Young Moms is a welfare organization that advocates for the rights of young women in indigenous communities by sensitizing them on their rights and empowering them through livelihood support programs to reduce and work towards eradicating poverty and advocate for inclusion in local and national governance particularly for the Yaaku indigenous community which has been assimilated by the Maasai of Laikipia North. We are also advocating for the revival of the Yaaku language and their culture in general.
We envision creating a poverty-free indigenous community where every person’s dignity is protected especially those affected by human and natural crises. We seek to provide people affected by human and natural crises in indigenous communities with educational programs, and sustainable social-economic programs, and promote peace-building and effective governance.
