Application of the Freedom of Information Act 2011 in the Nigerian Petroleum Sector

This resource is prepared to give an insight into the Nigerian Freedom of Information Act 2011 and how it can be deployed in prying open the enclosed Nigerian Petroleum sector which has been roundly declared as being opaque and thereby encouraging the non transparent and accountable practices in the sector. With the recommendations made, it is hoped that if followed, there could a reversal of the hitherto nature of the sector by arming and empowering the Nigerian people to make necessary and right demands on the operators of the sector.
