Module 3: What Does it Mean to Have Just Carbon Projects at the Community Level

Now that you have an understanding of some of the people and terminology involved in carbon projects, each of the next modules will look at how to apply the carbon justice principles in practice.

In this module, you will learn how communities can understand, assert, and protect their rights when carbon projects are proposed on their lands. Drawing from the experience of communities who have responded to other carbon projects, you will learn about evaluating risks and benefits of a project, including how they impact men and women differently. You will see how to incorporate these ideas into the content and process of a carbon negotiation.
