Module 2: What are Carbon Markets?

“Are they taking our air?” This is a common question grassroots justice advocates hear when they start to explain carbon projects to communities. In addition to being a complicated scientific concept – without a tangible product -carbon markets are riddled with acronyms and jargon that make them very hard to understand.

In this module, you will gain confidence identifying the key terms, processes and actors of carbon projects. You will also see how others are able to communicate about these complex ideas to communities that are directly impacted. This will serve as a background for how to use the carbon justice principles to create change.
