RISE-Ghana, Rural Initiatives for Self-Empowerment, is a a local Ghanaian Human Rights and Sustainable Development NGO registered in 2011 by a group of young people concerned about widespread poverty and inequality in Northern Ghana and the limited application of rights-based approaches in development programs.
They sought to promote human dignity and sustainable development through rights-based approaches in all development interventions. Over the years, the organization has grown into a reputable go-to local NGO for state and non-state actors, international donors, multilateral organizations and media seeking to advance their mandates in the sphere of human rights, health, disability, governance and visibility of their programs.
