The Philippine Coalition for the International Criminal Court (PCICC) was established in November 2000, following two national workshops on the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The PCICC believes that individual perpetrators of the most heinous crimes – genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity – must be brought to justice. The PCICC has the following objectives:

1. create public awareness on the International Criminal Court;
2. gather support for the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court by the Philippines; and
3. promote the integration of the principles and standards of the International Criminal Court to the Philippines judicial and legal systems.

The PCICC played a crucial role in the Philippine signing of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court in December 2000. Since then, it has conducted various activities nationwide to achieve its objectives. It has also assisted some Asian countries in disseminating information about the ICC. It has published the first primer on the ICC in the Philippines which was later reproduced and used in various parts of Asia.

The PCICC is a member of the NGO coalition for the International Criminal Court which is a worldwide network of over 2,000 non-governmental organizations that promotes a fair, effective and independent International Criminal Court (ICC).
