Pact’s work in Somalia is fostering justice as well as peace and reconciliation among historically divided groups, improving people’s security and quality of life both within the country and in neighboring nations.
In partnership with USAID and the European Union Trust Fund for Africa, Pact is using systemic solutions that address root causes of cross-border conflict. We work directly with local communities to strengthen conflict-management systems and build the capacity of regional and national institutions to stem conflict. Our programming engages local government agencies, women, religious leaders, security forces and people vulnerable to engaging in conflict and violence.
In Somalia and the autonomous region of Somaliland, Pact is improving access to justice by increasing the quality, reach and availability of legal aid services.
