NFYN was founded in 2013 primarily to serve as a common platform for youth organizations for promoting youth voices, connecting youth, youth organizations and initiatives, sharing opportunities, information and exchange of ideas, experiences and best practices around youth development. Moreover, the motive of establishing the Federation is to advocate for the rights of youth and make a remarkable contribution in influencing policies to address challenges and needs of Nepalese youth especially their inclusion in civic leadership, participation in political spaces and decision-making at all levels. As of 2019, NFYN has its district chapters in all 77 districts and provincial chapters in all 7 provinces of Nepal. Since its establishment, NFYN has been working vigorously to improve the condition of Nepalese youths by facilitating and advocating for youth friendly opportunities and spaces. As a Federation, NFYN facilitates the development of youths’ capacities to participate and play active role in their transformation processes and to raise their voices with policymakers on issues related to their rights and overall development. NFYN also works to strengthen the capacities of its member youth organizations by learning from each other and sharing good practices.
