Mission: Empower communities by promoting access to education, sustainable livelihoods, environmental stewardship, and human rights.

Key Intervention Areas: IAS K implements programs in Inclusive Education, Integrated Water Resource Management, Civil Society Development, Humanitarian Intervention, resilience and disaster risk reduction in Kenya. These projects are done in partnership with various government bodies, religious institutions, like-minded NGOs, CBOs, Self Help Groups and academia. IAS K is the current Chair for Kenya for Resilience (K4R) Community of Practice (CoP). K4R is a network Forum with over 120 members.

Civil Society Development – IAS K builds the capacity of local organizations to advocate for the less privileged, focusing on humanitarian interventions, poverty reduction and sustainable development. The Organization has a proven track record of fostering democratic governance, enhancing community engagement and participation, strengthening institutional capacities across various sectors and promoting sustainable development through supporting grassroots advocacy, strengthening local organizations, and providing strategic guidance that leads to sustainable change.

On Inclusive Education, IAS K ensures equal access to quality education for children facing barriers to learning. IAS K is committed to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities through school feeding initiatives, advocating for their rights, and lobbying for their inclusion. Additionally, we implement a sustainable school feeding program in Tharaka Nithi to support children from marginalized backgrounds to access nutritious foods and improve student retention.

The organization also has been empowering communities to effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters, while building resilience to future climatic shocks and stresses.
