Instituto Nueva Escuela’s (INE) mission is to accompany, train, and serve communities in Puerto Rico through Montessori public education for the development of individuals who contribute to the common good.

For over 15 years, INE has supported school communities through its core programs: School & Community Transformation and the Academic program. School & Community Transformation – Focuses on developing effective and participatory leadership of school directors and families in designing and implementing the Montessori philosophy, methodology, and curriculum in the
communities. This program also guides school communities in establishing structures for family participation and shared governance. The transformation process also provides enrichment programs for schools focused on the environment, arts, and sciences. This program also incorporates Casa Familiar, a project that addresses the biopsychological needs of children, youth, and their families.

Academic Program – Provides training, certification, and coaching to teachers and school staff
and prepares them in the Montessori methodology and philosophy. The courses focus on:
Infants and Toddlers (2 months-3 years), House of Children (3-5 years), Elementary I-II (6-12
years), Secondary I (12-15 years), Montessori Assistants, and School Principals. INE is the only
institution accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE)
to offer these certifications in Puerto Rico.

We are certain that school by school we will build a better Puerto Rico.
