The Indonesian Mental Health Association (IMHA), known locally as Perhimpunan Jiwa Sehat, is an independent advocacy organization dedicated to defending the rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities in Indonesia. We fight for a world where mental health treatment respects human dignity, personal agency, and aligns with human rights principles, particularly those enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

At IMHA, we challenge the deep-seated stigma and systemic discrimination that have long oppressed persons with psychosocial disabilities. We take a stand against shackling, arbitrary detention, segregation, and institutionalization—practices that strip individuals of their freedom under the false pretense of care. We are committed to prohibiting all forms of physical restraint and ensuring that survivors of mental health institutions receive full justice and reparations.

Through bold and relentless advocacy, IMHA is working to build an equal and inclusive society where persons with psychosocial disabilities can live independently, access their fundamental rights, and seize opportunities without barriers. We believe that true justice is non-negotiable, and we will not stop until every person with a psychosocial disability is treated with the dignity, respect, and legal recognition they deserve.
