Our work reduces incidences of violence against women, domestic violence, child marriage, dowry, and polygamy. We also offer a 360° approach to victims of human trafficking, facilitate access to land rights and partner with GIZ in improving prison overcrowding, and pursue public interest litigation to address legal issues.
OUR OBJECTIVES
Improve and raise legal awareness, mobilise communities and provide legal aid against social injustice.
Improve access to justice for women, children and people with special needs and minorities.
Scaling up urban interventions to meet the legal needs of people living in poverty in Urban and peri-urban areas.
Extending the coverage of legal services and counseling on juvenile justice
Promote alternative dispute resolution (ADR), to resolve legal issues.
Ensure safe work place environment for all through safeguarding training and developing complaint mechanism.
We have presence in 61 districts of Bangladesh. There are 410 legal aid clinics with 392 staff, 350 panel lawyers all over the country. In 2019 we have provided legal aid support to 32000 beneficiaries. We have conducted 21,500 ADR and helped women to recover 5.6 million USD from other parties.
