Organization: Community Development and Humanitarian Network (CoDHNet)

Community Development and Humanitarian Network (CoDHNet) is a humanitarian and development organization operating in Kenya and Somalia since 2011. CoDHNet works to empower marginalized and vulnerable communities, including women, youth, refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and pastoralist populations.

Mission: To promote peace and sustainable development among agro-pastoralist and urban communities in the Horn of Africa by advancing human rights, humanitarian services, equitable socio-economic empowerment, justice, and advocacy.

Programs and Activities: CoDHNet implements initiatives in health and nutrition, emergency education, protection, WASH, livelihoods, shelter, peacebuilding and reconciliation, disaster risk reduction, and climate action. Our work emphasizes human rights, community participation, and access to justice, ensuring that communities can claim their rights and actively participate in decision-making processes that affect their lives.

Approach: CoDHNet partners with local communities, civil society organizations, and government institutions to strengthen resilience, promote equitable development, and foster inclusive governance. By combining capacity-building, advocacy, and community-led initiatives, we ensure sustainable impact and empowerment of the communities we serve.

Target Communities: Our programs primarily support agro-pastoralist populations, urban poor, women, youth, refugees, and IDPs, with a focus on fostering social inclusion, justice, and economic opportunities.

Vision: To create a society in the Horn of Africa where marginalized communities are empowered, human rights are respected, and access to justice and humanitarian services is equitable and sustainable.
