CENTRE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS FACT-FINDING ADVOCACY REHABILITATION AND REINTEGRATION (CHFARR) is a registered Not-For-Profit Organisation that advocates for the rights of prisoners, ex-offenders, and other disadvantaged/indigent peoples affected by the criminal justice system. Our core belief is that every human is entitled to their rights and dignity.
Our cardinal anchor is premised on; Access to Justice, human rights advocacy, rehabilitation, reintegration and welfare of inmates in correctional centres, while ensuring that mechanisms are pursued to the liberation of inmates unduly remanded and or that has long over-stayed in Pre-Trial Detentions while awaiting trial.
We focus our work on the founding ideals of the Human Rights movement; those most purely represented in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), and the 1976 International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), Fundamental Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, (as amended); Article 6,9 and 12 of the African Charter on Human and People’s Right (Ratification and Enforcement ) Act, Cap A9 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.
CHFARR aims to raise awareness about both the nature of freedom and engaging the freedom towards meaningful activities that can move the society forward.
