Center for collective learning and action (CECLA) is a non-partisan organization formed and registered in 2005 with the Bongo District Assembly. CECLA mission is to encourage and advance the socio-economic well being of mankind. CECLA is managed by a 5-man committee comprising the Executive Director, Director of programs, Gender and Advocacy expert, Finance and Administrative officer and a field officer. CECLA also works with 50 trained community volunteers. There is a Board of Directors which are chosen from individuals with considerable expertise and experience in both government and private organizations. The Board is in charge of the development of policies and also has the oversight responsibility for CECLA’s financial performance, mission fulfillment, development and future direction.
Currently CECLA is implementing a Social Cohesion project aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence between the fulbes herdsmen and the indigenous people in Bongo District. Furthermore, over 200 unemployed women are being empowered through capacity building to improve their livelihood activities.
