Youth Alliance for Rural Development in Liberia (YARD-Liberia) was founded on June 1, 2017 by a group of young Liberians. The organization was registered as a National Non- Governmental Organization on June 19, 2019, with Registration No: 052286565.
Our Vision is to create a self-sustaining generations of youth in rural Liberia through health promotion, education, social ventures, etc. In the next few years, we hope to extend our organization to cover three counties to include Margibi, Bong, and Grand Bassa. Our Mission is to “Bridge Rural-Urban Gaps” by ensuring a healthy, strong and educated breed of young people from rural communities through advocacy, accountability, good governance and capacity building programs to put them on par with other young people across the Nation and the globe at large.
The Incorporators of the organization are all youth who have the passion to address the issue of poor education, unemployment among youth and producing young community leaders.
Since the organization formation we have partnered with many national and international organizations including UNIDO, Real Women of Substance, Monrovia Peace Club, West Africa ICT Network, NAYMOTE-Liberia, BudgIT-Liberia, Peace Revolution, Shareyourself.org, LIFT-Africa, World Peace Initiative, MenEngage-Liberia, Ducor Peace Club, etc. to address issues of concern to youth. We have provided youth leadership, Peace, civic education, entrepreneurship training, mental health awareness and advocacies in schools, to youth, and local areas in Harbel and other communities in Margibi County; and other selected Countries.
