Teenagers Empowerment Initiative [TEMIN] an indigenous, not-for-profit non-governmental organization, is a local initiative committed to contributing sustainable response to health and developmental needs of Nigeria’s rural poor and vulnerable communities. Established in May, 2005 and supported essentially by volunteers, TEMIN started work by providing support to Orphans and Vulnerable Children in communities especially IDPs, Promoting HIV & AIDS information/education to in-School and out –of-school youths, and rendering home based care to People Living with HIV & AIDS and their families. By this we enhance local capacities of youths, advocate behavioral change and promote access to services to meet specific health and developmental needs. TEMIN provides information interventions on sanitation and encourages environmental friendly activities that enhance a healthy and sustainable environment TEMIN works with many communities in Nigeria, facilitating and catalyzing positive change through its programmes. TEMIN works to provide some level of social security, peace and good governance through collaborative efforts with other NGOs. It is non-political and believes in diversity and equal opportunity for all. TEMIN operates a top bottom and bottom top system of operation in communication flow. The organization is govern by a board of Directors having an oversight function, an Executive Director who is the chief executive officer, a program manager in charge of all program activities of the organization and an accountant in charge of all financial transaction, these are the management team of TEMIN and other staffers who falls under the management team based on their functions and job description.
