TaCREEP is a grassroots organisation, which was fully registered by the Registrar of Societies on 20th July 2009 (Registration Number S.A. 16517). But, after the parliament passed the Non-Governmental Organisations (Amendments) Regulations, 2019 we were required to re-register and issued a new registration certificate with number 00NGO/R/4460. TaCREEP has devoted herself to realizing a safe and protective environment for children in Tanzania. The headquarters of TaCREEP is at Shinyanga DC Building, Plot No. 34, Ushirika Area, Sanjo Street, Mwanza Road in Shinyanga Municipal. TaCREEP is a grassroots organisation, whose vision is “A society in which children are confident to advocate for their rights and are able to exercise their full potential”. Our mission statement is “To promote and protect the rights of children by creating a community in which all children have equal opportunity to reach their full potential”. We intend to achieve these through four (4) key objectives: 1) to support women’s rights and child protection; 2) to support the education and health for vulnerable in and out of school children; 3) Climate change, mitigation and adaptation for sustainable solutions and 4) food security and livelihoods.
TaCREEP works together with other partners in influencing and advocating for legal and policy framework of child-protection and women’s human rights to ensure that they are developed and strengthened by actors at local levels. We aim to do this through interventions that prevent the violation of women and children rights in relation to serious risks and hazards through civic education, or handling and referring cases of women’s and children’s rights nature to appropriate authorities for redress. To achieve this initiatives, TaCREEP is committed to involving all members of the community in addressing and protecting child rights through participatory and gender transformative approach.
