The Somali Awareness and Social Development Organization (SASDO) is a nonprofit, community-based organization working to support vulnerable and marginalized communities across Banadir, Lower Shabelle, Middle Shabelle, and Hiran regions of Somalia. SASDO’s mission is to empower communities, improve access to essential services, and promote social inclusion.
SASDO implements a range of programs and activities, including:
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response: Conducting awareness campaigns, providing psychosocial support, and training community members to prevent and respond to GBV.
Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH): Improving access to healthcare, nutrition, and community health education for mothers, newborns, and children.
Nutrition and Food Security: Supporting economically vulnerable populations with nutrition awareness, food assistance, and livelihood programs.
Humanitarian Assistance: Providing support to internally displaced persons, refugees, the elderly, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.
Community Empowerment and Capacity Building: Training, awareness campaigns, and initiatives that enhance local resilience and self-reliance.
Advocacy and Policy Engagement: Promoting rights, inclusion, and equitable access to services for marginalized communities through advocacy and collaboration with local and international stakeholders.
