ROPES registered in 1989 as a secular non-government and not for profit organization has been working in the sphere of promoting and protecting the rights of children and women in the area of education, health, protection, water and sanitation, women empowerment and sustainable livelihood. It considers participation and gender equality as principles to integrate in all its interventions. ROPES located in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, South India. The vision of the organization is “A society in which every child and woman attains their basic rights, protection and development”. In order to achieve the vision, it aims to improve the quality of life and advance the rights of children, it has been working closely with families and communities to bring long lasting change in children’s lives by creating a safe environment to protect from exploitation, discrimination. ROPES protects women and young girls from trafficking, early forced marriage, child labour through rescue and rehabilitation program. It also facilitate supportive environment by improving economic status of families in order to help children to realize their rights. ROPES intervention is in prevention, protection and prosecution aspects. ROPES has a strong belief that development can be happened through collectiveness and consistency of different stakeholders’ engagement in the process. It works closely with other civil society organizations, community based organizations, public institutions and government departments for the effective implementation of all programs for child rights protection and women legal empowerement. ROPES received various state and District level awards from the State level officers.
