Nkoko Iju Africa is a community-based organization founded in 2009 in Coastal Kenya. Over 15 years, Nkoko Iju Africa has grown from a small peer educator initiative into a recognized leader in youth empowerment and social rights advocacy, serving over 5,000 young beneficiaries across Kenya’s coastal region. Nkoko Iju Africa’s programming addresses the interconnected health, economic, legal, and social challenges faced by teenage mothers, young sex workers, teen-led households, and persons with disability – populations that face multiple forms of discrimination and exclusion.

Nkoko Iju Africa trains community paralegals, operates a Rapid Response Team for GBV survivors, and has achieved a 98% viral suppression rate among HIV-positive beneficiaries and trained over 400 young survivors of violence through our EmpowerHER project. Our partnerships include the County Governments in the coastal region, Médecins Sans Frontières, Aids Healthcare Foundation, TIKO, and USAID Stawisha Pwani.
