Nature Interest Alliance Ghana – (NIAG) was established as a Non – Governmental Organization (NGO), to improve the environment in our communities by working with stakeholders and the people to create a clean, safe place to live and work.We are committed to a sustainable future and to improving the social, economic and environmental well being of the communities we serve.
The mission of Nature Interest Alliance Ghana is to protect, improve and restore our environment through regulation, scientific knowledge and working with others.
The vision of NIAG is to empower, protect our natural resources, attuned to the pursuit of sustainable development goal for a clean and healthy environment that enhances the quality of life for present and future generations.
NIAG is dedicated to improve livelihoods of communities, particularly the poor, while ensuring due care for the environment and sound management practices.
NIAG program of action consists of the following four (4) inter – related strategic interventions as follows: Research and Documentation, Advocacy and Communication, Sustainable Development Goal, Strategic Information and Knowledge Management and Strategic Partnerships and Alliances.
We implement projects that help protect the rights, interests, cultures and aspirations of local and indigenous communities in Ghana forests, by promoting environmental justice and sustainable management of nature. We create efficiencies and encourage participation in the management of forests. Our Program fights by confronting decline in nature, including habitat destruction and over-exploitation of wildlife which is to conserve biodiversity through ecology, exploration and education. NIAG is scaling up the protection and environmental restoration in sustainable management of forests range lands and marine ecosystems as an essential solution to the climate change and environmental challenges we encounter today.
