Introduction
National Council of People Living with HIV in Tanzania (NACOPHA) is a national grassroots-based organization of all individuals recognized through organized groups, Clusters, and Networks of People living with HIV (PLHIV) in Tanzania. NACOPHA leads a unified voice of PLHIV, coordinates efforts, and contributions of PLHIV in the national HIV response in Tanzania mainland.
NACOPHA coordinates efforts of PLHIV through district clusters and empowerment groups, networks, and individuals to address the needs of PLHIV. NACOPHA has ensured meaningful involvement of PLHIV in policy fora and program planning, review, implementation, and monitoring. NACOPHA ensure that the PLHIV are powerful protagonists in HIV response, not merely assistance recipients. NACOPHA applies bottom-up approach engaging policy and development actors, partners, and collaborators with the Government ministries, departments and agencies, Parliament, PEPFAR/USAID, Global Fund, and UN family, etc.

To provide Leadership and coordinate actors’ efforts through evidence-based advocacy and capacity strengthening towards a vibrant engagement and visibility of PLHIV.
