Murphy Charitable Foundation is a community-based nonprofit organization working in Uganda to support vulnerable children, women, and youth through education, digital learning, and community empowerment programs.

Our work focuses on addressing barriers to education and opportunity in underserved communities by creating safe and engaging learning environments. Through our Learning Lab initiative, we support children to improve literacy, numeracy, and digital skills using interactive and play-based approaches.

We also run a global Pen Pal Program that connects over 3,000 children in Uganda with international peers, fostering cultural exchange, mentorship, and long-term support. In addition, our women and youth empowerment programs provide financial literacy training and small business support to strengthen household incomes and community resilience.

We are increasingly integrating community organizing approaches into our work, supporting communities to participate in decision-making, access opportunities, and build confidence to advocate for their needs. Our goal is to contribute to inclusive, community-driven development where individuals are empowered not only with services, but also with knowledge, voice, and agency.
