Mission & Vision

Mission: WEFL is dedicated to uplifting and empowering underprivileged women and girls in rural and peri-urban communities across Liberia. Through focused efforts in advocacy, capacity-building, education, and strategic partnerships, health inequities, and barriers to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) .

Vision: The organization envisions a future where every Liberian woman and girl lives in dignity with full access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, and where gender equality is a lived reality. WEFL strives for a society where women lead.

Founded in 2018 by Mrs. Laura Bee-Kiekpo, Mrs. Roseline Sherman, and Apostle Mrs. Rokiatu Warner, WEFL was born of a collective recognition of the urgent need to empower women as agents of transformational change in a post-conflict, rebuilding Liberia .

Programs & Initiatives

Rural Girl Educational Empowerment Program

Improving access to education in rural communities and providing mentorship to support girls’ learning and personal development .

Promoting policies and reforms for gender equality, legal education and assistance to empower women facing legal or rights-related challenges.

Raising awareness on SRHR, menstrual health, and collaborating with partners like Days for Girls International to promote health education.

WEFL launched a two-year Climate Justice Initiative, supported by the Global Fund for Women Champions. The project includes stakeholder workshops and hands-on tools to equip women to recognize and respond to climate change impacts.

WEFL actively addresses the effects of SGBV and harmful traditional practices through training, advocacy, and awareness.
